Input field becomes unresponsive for an extended time after pasting an image

When pasting an image into the prompt input, the input field stops accepting new text input for a long period afterward.
Steps to reproduce:
- Paste an image into the Claude Code input (e.g. a screenshot).
- Try to type additional text right after.
Expected: input remains responsive immediately after paste.
Actual: input is unresponsive for an extended period after image paste.
Environment: macOS (Darwin 25.5.0), model: Sonnet 5.
