What's Wrong?

Claude Desktop (Windows) crashes and requires repair when in-app browser loads steamdb.info

What Should Happen?

It shouldn't crash or require repair. If there's a problem with the site, it should report that problem to the user, but keep the session going.

Error Messages/Logs

The agent didn't know where any relevant logs were and nor do I.

Steps to Reproduce

From the agent:

In a Claude Code session, the agent opened the in-app Browser pane (preview_start) at https://steamdb.info/app/251570/depots/ and later https://steamdb.info/app/251570/history/. Each time, the entire desktop app crashed and required the repair flow on relaunch — 2/2 reproductions, both immediately after navigating to steamdb.info. Other sites in the pane were fine.

Additional Information

Environment: Claude Desktop on Windows 11 Pro (build 10.0.26200), Claude Code session, model claude-fable-5.

Notes: steamdb.info runs aggressive anti-bot/fingerprinting JS (Cloudflare), which may be the trigger, but a page shouldn't be able to crash the host app — worst case should be a failed tab. The tool call itself returned navOk: true; the crash followed. Happy to provide logs if pointed at the right location.
