[BUG] Long delay for initial commend behind firewall

Resolved 💬 5 comments Opened Sep 26, 2025 by damienrj Closed Jan 23, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I am trying to run Claude Code behind a firewall, using the newer Console Account (api billing) method. I have the following domains set to be allowed.

• api.anthropic.com
• claude.ai
• sentry.io
• statsig.anthropic.com
• console.anthropic.com
• cdn.anthropic.com
• static.anthropic.com
• files.anthropic.com
• auth.anthropic.com

However the first command I run with Claude Code hangs for 5 minutes and then the later commands work fine. I think the endpoint works okay since I don't see the same issue in open code so I suspect there is some specific domain I can't reach when Claude Code starts.

What Should Happen?

Have less than 60 second wait for command to start
