[FEATURE] Dispatch / desktop-app mobile handoff is unavailable on Team/Enterprise plans — and fails silently
Summary
Dispatch — the desktop app's zero-setup mobile handoff, where desktop sessions are automatically visible and steerable from the Claude iPhone app — is only available on personal Pro/Max plans. Team/Enterprise organization accounts don't get it at all: the dispatch button and the mobile sessions sidebar element are hidden in the desktop app, and the iPhone app's dispatch search never finds the Mac (it just keeps searching, with no explanation).
What I expected
I moved from a personal Max plan to a Team organization plan — a more expensive tier. On the personal plan, my workflow was: leave the laptop on, pick the session up on the phone. Nothing to start, nothing to remember.
I expected a higher tier to keep that. Instead, on the org account the only phone→Mac path is the terminal CLI (claude remote-control), which requires starting a separate terminal process before leaving the desk, and which cannot take over sessions started in the desktop app.
Why this matters
- Paying more and losing a feature is a surprising product boundary, and nothing in the UI explains it. The iPhone app's dispatch simply searches forever — it looks like a bug, and diagnosing it as a plan limitation took real effort (org admin settings, re-logins, CLI experiments — none of which could have fixed it).
- Remote Control is a good admin-gated primitive, but it is not equivalent UX: it needs a terminal, must be started in advance per project directory, and desktop-app sessions can't be handed off with it.
Request
Either of these would resolve it:
- Bring Dispatch / desktop-app session handoff to Team/Enterprise, behind the same org admin toggle that already gates Remote Control (claude.ai admin settings → Claude Code), or
- If the boundary is intentional, say so in the product: the iPhone app's dispatch search should state "not available on your plan" instead of searching indefinitely, and the docs/upgrade pages should mention that Dispatch is Pro/Max-only.
