Preflight Checklist

  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

Mozilla Thunderbird is a widely used desktop email client, but Cowork has no dedicated connector for it. Thunderbird users currently have no vetted way to let Claude search, read, or draft their emails, unlike Gmail or Outlook users.

Proposed Solution

Add a vetted Cowork connector for Thunderbird (via its local profile/IMAP account configuration, or a companion extension) so Claude can search threads, read messages, and create drafts directly from the user's Thunderbird account, similar to the Gmail connector.

Alternative Solutions

The only current workaround is a generic IMAP connector (if available) or manually copying email content into the chat.

Priority

Medium - Would be very helpful

Feature Category

MCP server integration

Use Case Example

I use Thunderbird as my primary email client instead of Gmail or Outlook. I'd like to ask Claude to 'summarize my unread Thunderbird emails' or 'draft a reply in the currently selected thread', the same way Gmail-connected users can today.

Additional Context

This request is specifically about a dedicated Thunderbird connector (matching its account/profile setup), distinct from the separate generic IMAP connector request (#81731), similar to how Gmail and Outlook each have their own connector alongside a hypothetical generic option.
