Problem Statement

In a long-running conversation or project, Claude can produce many artifacts over time (documents, drafts, versioned files, etc.). The right-hand artifact panel in the Claude Desktop app (macOS) lists these in creation order only, with no way to sort or alphabetize them.

Once a project accumulates more than a handful of artifacts, finding a specific one means scrolling and reading titles in whatever order they were created, rather than being able to jump to it by name. This gets worse the longer a project runs and the more iterative versions pile up.

Proposed Solution

Add a sort control to the artifact panel (e.g., a small sort icon or dropdown) with at least:

  • Alphabetical (A-Z / Z-A)
  • Creation date (oldest/newest, i.e. today's default, made explicit)

Even a simple A-Z toggle would meaningfully help with navigation in artifact-heavy projects.

Alternatives Considered

Manually scrolling/searching by eye, works for a small number of artifacts, breaks down as the list grows.

Additional Context

Platform: Claude Desktop, macOS. Not sure whether this affects the web version's artifact panel identically, flagging in case it's a shared component.
