Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When claude is in "full terminal" mode and tries to commit something, but I GPG signing enabled with a Passphrase - I get prompted for a passphrase, but this interferes with Claude's "full terminal" mode asn the GPG Passphrase tries the same "full terminal" mode. The only solution is to kill the whole shell and possibly restart it.

What Should Happen?

Idk how this can be fixed to be honest - maybe let Claude check whether it requires a signing passphrase and then change the terminal UI mode.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Enable GPG Signing with a GPG Key which requires a passphrase.
  2. Tell Claude to do something and commit it
  3. Observe and try to type something (be careful, this might break your 3 tries for the passphrase!)

Additional Information

The "potential duplicate" issues or PRs are all closed because of inactivity - this is something important that should not be ignored as it breaks the current Claude session, even when trying to resume!

From P5 to P0 this is about a P1 or P2
