Environment

  • Claude desktop app (Mac): 1.22209.0
  • macOS: 26.5.2 Tahoe (Build 25F84) — upgraded from Sequoia
  • Timing: noticed immediately after the macOS upgrade + reboot (which likely also applied a pending app auto-update)

Description

In the desktop app's session list sidebar, I previously used Group by = custom group together with the Last activity = 3d filter to show only recently active sessions within my custom groups. This combination worked until recently.

After rebooting (macOS Sequoia → Tahoe), the Last activity filter can no longer be set while Group by = custom group is selected. Switching to Group by = State makes the Last activity filter settable again.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the desktop app session list sidebar
  2. Set Group by = custom group
  3. Try to set the Last activity filter (e.g. 3d) → cannot be set
  4. Switch Group by = State → Last activity filter becomes settable

Expected

Last activity filter should be settable regardless of the Group by mode (as it was before).

Actual

Last activity filter is only settable when Group by = State.

Notes

  • Could not find this behavior change documented in CHANGELOG.md or existing issues, so filing as a suspected regression.
  • Since the desktop app auto-updates on restart, the regression may be from the app update rather than the OS upgrade itself.
