[BUG] SystemError: kill() failed: EPERM: Operation not permitted
Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
Claude Code errored out and completely crashed.
What Should Happen?
It should have continued working on the task until completion.

Steps to Reproduce
go ahead with #2, install k3s directly on host
● I'll install K3s directly on the host for a proper workload cluster,
separate from Rancher's embedded K3s.
● First, let me check if K3s is already installed on the host:
● Bash(which k3s || echo "K3s not installed")
⎿ K3s not installed
● Bash(systemctl status k3s 2>/dev/null || echo "K3s service not found")
⎿ K3s service not found
● Good, K3s is not installed. Let me create an installation script
with proper configuration:
● Write(k3s-workload-cluster/install-k3s-host.sh)
⎿ Wrote 47 lines to k3s-workload-cluster/install-k3s-host.sh
#!/bin/bash
# K3s Workload Cluster Installation Script
# This installs K3s directly on the host, separate from Rancher's
embedded K3s
set -e
echo "Installing K3s workload cluster on host..."
# Set installation directory for K3s
… +37 lines (ctrl+o to expand)
● Bash(chmod +x
/home/vrspace4/docker/k3s-workload-cluster/install-k3s-host.sh)
⎿ (No content)
● Let me create the .kube directory if it doesn't exist:
● Bash(mkdir -p /home/vrspace4/.kube && ls -la /home/vrspace4/.kube/)
⎿ total 8
drwxrwxr-x 2 vrspace4 vrspace4 4096 Sep 17 14:57 .
drwxr-x--- 52 vrspace4 vrspace4 4096 Sep 17 14:57 ..
● Now let's run the installation:
● Bash(sudo /home/vrspace4/docker/k3s-workload-cluster/install- timeout:
k3s-host.sh) 3m
⎿ Error: Command timed out after 3m 0.0s Created symlink
/etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/k3s.service →
/etc/systemd/system/k3s.service.
