[BUG] Scheduled task: clicking in no longer shows the latest run thread — must re-select each day's run

Open 💬 0 comments Opened Jul 15, 2026 by new-mantra

Description
Previously, clicking into a Scheduled Task in the Claude desktop app sidebar would open directly to the most recent run/thread. Now, clicking in requires manually selecting the specific day/run each time to see its output — the view no longer defaults to showing the latest run.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the Claude desktop app.
  2. Go to Scheduled (sidebar).
  3. Click into any recurring scheduled task (e.g. one running daily/weekdays).
  4. Observe: the most recent run is not shown by default; a specific day/run must be selected manually to view its thread.

Expected behavior
Clicking into a scheduled task should open directly to its most recent completed run, as it previously did.

Environment

  • Claude desktop app (Cowork / Scheduled Tasks)
  • macOS
  • Observed July 2026

Additional context
This is a regression in UX/navigation for the Scheduled Tasks feature, separate from known issues about sidebar visibility or execution failures.
