[CRITICAL] Claude has deliberately deleted a detailed specification file

What You Asked Claude to Do

No prompt, Claude independently deleted a file that it knew contained the detailed specifications that it was working from. It suddenly claimed no knowledge of it, and I found out that the file had been deleted.

What Claude Actually Did

Independently and without authorisation or necessity deleted a very important specification file.

Expected Behavior

Leave the files alone.

Files Affected

A detailed specification md file containing detailed specification and instructions for new features to be added to the codebase. This was the only copy of the file, it will take me a long time to recreate and I do not have the mental strength at the moment, it is another hammer blow from Claude at a time when I am really struggling.

Permission Mode

Accept Edits was ON (auto-accepting changes)
