Occasional single-word Chinese/English language-mixing in output — appears semantically matched to the adjacent word
Twice in one ~4-hour Claude Code session (model: claude-sonnet-5), a single Chinese word was inserted into otherwise-English prose, in both cases closely translating the English word immediately next to it:
- "What IS still真 real and worth fixing regardless" — 真 (zhēn, "real/genuine") appearing directly before the English word "real."
- "I also checked what X直接 actually costs at our real volume" — 直接 ("directly") appearing where "directly" belongs.
Both instances were single words, not longer phrases, and didn't change the meaning or correctness of the surrounding sentence otherwise. Noted correlation (not confirmed causation): a loaded skill's documentation containing deliberate Chinese example text (for CJK-handling guidance) had appeared in context shortly before both incidents. No other session on the same machine, across several other projects, showed any CJK characters at all in the same 24-hour window.
Reporting in case this is a useful data point for a broader pattern — impact here was purely cosmetic.
