Feedback
The light/dark mode setting in the Claude Code desktop app (macOS) is hard to discover. Today it lives in Settings (Cmd+,) under Appearance, and the app otherwise silently follows the system theme. Nothing in the main UI hints that the theme can be changed, so finding it requires already knowing where to look.
Suggestions
Any of these would help:
- A visible theme toggle in the desktop app UI (e.g., in a status bar or the window chrome menu)
- A
/themeslash command in the chat input that jumps straight to the theme picker, matching the terminal CLI's config experience - Surfacing "Appearance" as a top-level item when opening Settings, or including "theme"/"dark mode" as search keywords if Settings gains search
Environment
- Claude Code desktop app, macOS (Darwin 25.5.0)
