[Bug][cyber] False positive block during routine memory-scanner/debugger daemon test-and-build session (req_011CcnEyPP6tXT94pTyfKrpt)

Triage: kind cyber · domain general · flagging model Opus 4.8 · severity session-halted (blocked authorized work) · reproducible: yes — server-side via the Request ID(s) below

Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

The session was iteratively building, deploying, and testing a memory-scanning/debugging daemon (typed memory scan/write, register access, backtrace, pointer scan, snapshot diff/restore, hardware watchpoints) on a device the user controls, with no request to attack third-party systems or bypass access controls. This is standard reverse-engineering/debugging tooling development, squarely in-scope for legitimate security research and development work, yet the safeguard halted the entire session rather than flagging a single ambiguous message. A session-wide stop on generic terms like "watchpoint," "regset," or "backtrace" during self-directed tool development is an overly broad false positive that blocks legitimate work.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-07-07T06:42:11.353Z.
