[BUG] App always opens on Cowork mode instead of Chat; no default-tab setting (Windows, desktop)

On every launch the Chat/Cowork toggle defaults to Cowork, regardless of which mode was active when the app was closed. There is no setting to choose a default mode.

Environment

• OS: Windows 11 25H2 Build 26200.8655
• Claude Desktop version: Claude 1.17377.2 (e0ea9e) 2026-07-01T05:51:58.000Z

What Should Happen?

Expected Behavior

App should remember the last-used mode, or provide a default-tab setting.

This appears to work on macOS.

2. Switch the mode toggle to Chat
3. Quit and relaunch the app
4. Toggle is back on Cowork
