[Bug][cyber] Safeguard blocked authorized adversarial security review of own web app (req_011CccKEuYAYEFLEtJo1Vn4L)

Triage: kind cyber · domain infra-devops · severity session-halted (blocked authorized work) · reproducible: yes — server-side via the Request ID(s) below

Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): infra-devops

Why this is a false positive

This block misfires because Opus 4.8's cyber-safeguard classifier appears to pattern-match on defensive security terminology (adversarial review, session-cookie auth, scanner) without distinguishing "reviewing my own private codebase for vulnerabilities" from actual offensive tasking. The work in question was a first-person, authorized security review of a small private repository the requester owns and controls, explicitly aimed at finding and fixing weaknesses, not at attacking any third party or system. The classifier should weight ownership/authorization signals (single local repo, first-party review framing, defensive intent) more heavily than surface-level security vocabulary before triggering a hard block.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-07-02T00:52:03.427Z.
