[Bug] Claude Code causes severe performance degradation affecting task completion time and productivity
Bug Description
Time and financial loss calculation — single day
Task: Correction of one existing lesson plan (not creation) Expected time: 15 minutes maximum Actual time spent: 4 consecutive hours without break Result: Task still incomplete at end of period
Opportunity cost in productive work: At current production capacity (1 full lesson built from scratch in approximately 2 hours when tool functions even at degraded but workable level), 4 hours represents capacity for 2 complete new lessons built from scratch. At marketed performance levels, 4 hours represents capacity for 2 to 3 complete new lessons.
Lost output: 2 to 3 lessons not built Time lost on incomplete correction task: 3 hours 45 minutes beyond reasonable expectation
Financial calculation:
Each lesson sells at €39 to individual subscribers (B2C model)
B2B seat pricing range: €15-30 per seat per month
Lost development output of 2 lessons at consumer pricing alone: €78 per direct sale, multiplied across subscriber base over product lifetime
Lost B2B licensing value: significantly higher given recurring revenue model
Direct opportunity cost in working hours at standard corporate hourly equivalent (€40-75/hour): €160 to €300 for the time lost
Compounding loss: every day of delayed library development delays revenue generation timeline
Total documented loss for this single 4-hour session:
Direct labor cost equivalent: €160-300
Lost development capacity: 2-3 lessons not produced
Future revenue impact: lessons not in library, not generating subscriber sales or B2B licensing income
Cumulative business delay: contributing to ongoing delay of full library completion target
This is a single documented day. Multiplied across months of subscription use at this performance level, the total loss reaches the scale of the €5,000 compensation sought in the SignalConso filing.
