Regression Report

The /remote-control (and /rc) slash command appears to have been removed or broken in the current version.

Expected behavior

/remote-control (shorthand /rc) should be available as a slash command to connect a local Claude Code CLI session to a mobile device or remote browser via the Claude app / claude.ai/code.

Actual behavior

The command is not recognized in the current version. It does not appear in the slash command list and typing it has no effect.

Environment

Claude Code version: 2.1.196
Platform: Linux (CachyOS)
Shell: fish

Steps to reproduce

Open a Claude Code session
Type /remote-control or /rc
Command is not found / not listed

Notes

This feature was previously working and is documented as available on all plans (research preview). It was reported as functional in v2.1.166+. This appears to be a regression introduced sometime after that version.

Please restore or re-expose the command in the slash command list.

This is (sadly) in the release notes.

Remote Control is now disabled when ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL points at a non-Anthropic host, matching the existing behavior under CLAUDE_CODE_USE_BEDROCK/_VERTEX/_FOUNDRY

If (like me) you're using something like headroom - https://github.com/headroomlabs-ai/headroom - to filter out useless tokens from command line output (saving a fortune in the process) then no more remote control for you.

Filtering useless tokens avoids unnecessary processing on Anthropic servers, reducing load and optimizing our usage.
