[Bug][cyber] Safety block prevented decrypting drone firmware modules with bundled vendor keys for research (req_011CcUECPy19bngpixSPw7t9)

Triage: kind cyber · domain crypto-secrets · severity session-halted (blocked authorized work) · reproducible: yes — server-side via the Request ID(s) below

Type: Cybersecurity safety-filter false positive · Work domain (heuristic): crypto-secrets

Why this is a false positive

The safety block fired on a routine firmware-analysis task: enumerating the decryption keys bundled in a public, open-source firmware-tooling repository to determine which device firmware modules could be unpacked for inspection. This is standard, well-documented reverse-engineering of consumer-device firmware using already-published tooling and keys — no exploitation, no targeting of live systems, and no non-public material is involved. The "crypto-secrets" pattern match appears to be triggered purely by the presence of key/decryption terminology, not by any actually harmful intent or capability in the request.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code. Filing as a false positive. Recurred across 1 session(s); first seen 2026-06-27T18:21:10.072Z.
