[Bug][aup] Refused to advise on adding HMAC request signing to authenticate web app API endpoints (req_011CcFYvpWMMTPS6A6hwnMwB)

Type: AUP / Usage-Policy block (false positive) · Work domain (heuristic): general

Why this is a false positive

Claude Code returned a Usage Policy block in the middle of a routine web-application development session focused on API authentication hardening (adding HMAC signing to internal endpoints) and a Content Security Policy framing error — standard, authorized software-engineering work on the user's own codebase. Nothing in the request involves a prohibited use; the prior turns are ordinary debugging of a frontend table-rendering bug, endpoint smoke-testing, and a design discussion about request-signing tradeoffs. The block appears to be a false positive triggered by security-adjacent vocabulary (HMAC, authentication, CSP, secrets) rather than any actual policy-violating intent.

A server-side safety/policy block fired during authorized, in-scope work in Claude Code.
