Problem Statement

Feature Request: Turkish (Türkçe) Language Support for Claude Code

Summary
Claude Code currently has no Turkish localization. All UI text, settings, menus, and options are English-only, creating a significant barrier for Turkish-speaking developers.

Problem
Turkish developers cannot fully understand settings and configuration options in Claude Code without relying on screenshots or external translation tools. This disrupts workflow and reduces accessibility.

Competing tools like Cursor and VS Code (via community language packs) already offer Turkish UI support. The absence of Turkish in Claude Code puts it at a disadvantage for Turkish-speaking users.

Proposed Solution

  • Add a Turkish (tr) locale to Claude Code
  • Translate all UI labels, settings descriptions, menu items, tooltips, and error messages
  • Allow community contributions for the translation (similar to VS Code's approach)

Impact
Turkey has a large and growing developer community. Turkish localization would significantly improve accessibility and adoption of Claude Code in this market.
