[BUG] Chat tab fails to initiate conversations (desktop app)

What's Wrong?

n the Claude desktop app, the Chat tab intermittently won't start a dialogue. Switching to the Chat tab, the conversation does not initialize. The issue resolves temporarily (e.g. after reload) but recurs.
Steps to reproduce:

Open the Claude desktop app
Switch to the Chat tab
Attempt to start a new conversation

What Should Happen?

A new dialogue starts normally.
