Claude Code been extremely slow to respond .. all the workflows I have that used to take 10-15 mins, as of last 2 weeks starting to take an hour+ .. this is systemic across Opus and Sonnet ..

I've found the same. My troubleshooting of the issue for me, running Claude code directly on windows 11:

I send a prompt on opus 4.8 (it can be first prompt in conversation, or later, doesn't matter), then it waits a couple seconds, just the animated message with an automatic word like "cooking...", and then after a couple seconds it shows the timer counting up, and "thinking with xhigh effort". But no token count for a long time. The timer keeps counting up, often for over a minute, and then finally the token count starts - it seems like it's queuing. Claude's interpretation is that when it shows the "thinking with xhigh" but no token count, it's an indication the API has returned some envelope response, without streaming yet - and then my response gets queued for over a minute. This is on Opus 4.8 1M.

Yep, also noticed this for awhile now. I'll sit there and watch claude for 5 minutes with 0 token increase. :/
