Claude Code repeatedly ignores project-specific CSS conventions despite explicit instructions in CLAUDE.md and multiple corrections within the same session.
To create a consistent look and feel on a website, I organise my CSS separately from my VUE and ASTRO files. In my claude.md file I have specified how I want Claude to work with regards to CSS (reuse existing CSS when possible, create generic CSS for components that can be reusable, etc). Despite this, Claude keeps creating new CSS in each file that it creates.
Even after making it refactor it's work over and over again, it still ignores the directives from both the session prompt and the claude.md file.
I hope this can be changed, because it is time consuming and frustrating to have to say the same thing over and over. (My toddler is a faster learner then Claude). Anyway, hope you can appreciate the joke and the feedback. All the best and good luck!
Btw, I asked Claude about it, and it advised me to report this bug.
