[Bug] Update check shows persistent install_failed status despite latest version installed

Bug Description
I see an error saying that the auto update failed. I run /doctor, and everything seems fine, except under the "Updates" section I see "Last update attempt: failed (install_failed) — 2026-06-11".
If I run manually claude update or claude upgrade it says I'm already on latest. So, either the error is not really an error or something, but I keep seen that error in bottom-right corner saying that the auto update failed and to run "/doctor".
