[BUG] "Type something" accepts only a very short piece of text before I can't see what I'm typing

What's Wrong?

Recently, Claude Code has started offering alternatives. They disappear from the transcript after you answer these prompts, so I'm reconstructing one from memory.

What do you want to do? 1. Continue as before 2. Change foo to bar everywhere 3. Keep foo but discard all the bars 4. Type something

In this scenario, if you choose "Type something" you can type in 3-4 words but then after that you can't see what you are typing if you continue. The cursor moves as if Claude somehow tried to display the characters but failed; the existing text remains on the screen and you can't see what you typed or realistically go back and change wording etc.

As a rule, I find that I want to explain why none of the options are acceptable, or explain how I like 2 but need some of 3 to go before it, only not in the files x and y. It is unrealistic to expect responses to be very short, and so the design desperately needs to be fixed to accommodate longer answers.

What Should Happen?

I should see what I am typing.

Steps to Reproduce

I don't have a recipe for how to produce these prompts, but under-specifying what you want is probably a good start.
