[BUG] Predictive text/ghost text jumbles input in Claude Code
Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Jun 6, 2026 by bizzyjb Closed Jul 14, 2026

- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
When using Claude via SSH (Ubuntu 24.04) session on Windows, the auto-complete, auto-text, ghost text - not sure what the official name is, only goes away if I type and backspace.
Typing over it just jumbles your text display since it doesn't automatically go away See attached screenshot.
What Should Happen?
Good question - previous UI experience says it should go away as soon as I start typing, or if I hit ESC.
