[BUG] "claude auth status" says logged in but "claude" wants to login again

Resolved 💬 4 comments Opened Jun 5, 2026 by WidAmi Closed Jul 14, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

The command "claude" acts as though I'm not logged in but "claude auth status" says I am and "claude --print hello" returns a working response. This is an IPv6 only environment which caused issues with installation as well so that may be part of the problem.

What Should Happen?

The TUI should start and not run the login/authentication flow.
