[Bug] [Has Workaround] Auto-Compact Resetting Context Limit To 4-6% Causing Frequent Compaction Loop

Bug Description
Auto-compact keeps resetting to 4% - 6% remaining so Claude goes into a compact loop. Resetting session did not fix the problem.

Workaround:

Either rename/remove the settings.local.json file from the .claude folder

OR

Manually go through the file and cleanup large actions that you don't mind having to approve again regularly.

OR

Cleanup the entire file and manually go in an add actions yourself.
