Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

After updating to version 2.1.156, voice input is detected (microphone captures audio) but transcription stops working, no text is written to the input field. This worked correctly in the previous version.

The issue appeared immediately after the automatic update on Windows 11. Reloading the VS Code window did not fix it.

What Should Happen?

When using voice input, Claude Code should transcribe spoken words and write them into the chat input field, as it did before the 2.1.154 / .155 and .156 update.

Error Messages/Logs

No error messages displayed. Voice input activates silently but produces no transcribed text.
