[VSCode Extension] Laggy keystroke input in chat box

Description

Typing in the Claude Code VSCode extension chat input feels laggy/delayed. Every keystroke has noticeable input lag, making it uncomfortable to type longer messages.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open VSCode with Claude Code extension installed
  2. Open the Claude Code chat panel
  3. Start typing a message in the input box

Expected Behavior

Keystrokes should be reflected immediately with no lag.

Actual Behavior

Keystroke input feels delayed/laggy inside the VSCode extension chat input box.

Additional Context

  • No lag when using the same model (claude-sonnet-4-6) via claude in the terminal
  • Issue appears to be specific to the VSCode extension UI layer
  • Platform: macOS
