[BUG] Claude Desktop Code tab causes disk write limit violation — 8.5GB in 11 min, macOS kills app (M5, v1.9659.1)

What's Wrong?

Environment:

App version: 1.9659.1
macOS: 26.5 (Build 25F71)
Hardware: Mac17,3 — MacBook Air, Apple M5, 16GB RAM
Architecture: arm64e

What's happening:
Opening a Code session triggers a massive disk write leak. macOS terminates the entire app after ~11 minutes due to exceeding disk write limits.
Console.app crash report shows:

Steps to reproduce:
Open Claude Desktop
Click the Code tab
Wait ~10 minutes — app closes silently with no error

What works fine: Chat online tab, browser-based claude.ai
What I've tried: Full reinstall including ~/Library/Application Support/Claude — no change.

What Should Happen?

Opening a Code session should initialize normally without triggering excessive disk write activity. The VM binary should operate within macOS's disk write limits (99.42 KB/sec) and the app should remain stable and responsive for the duration of the session.
