Problem Statement

When interacting with Claude VS Code chat window, the constant scrolling of the window makes it difficult to read. Scrolling up slightly to stop the auto scrolling is inconvenient given how much back and forth there is with Claude during a session.

Proposed Solution

I would like to have a "disable autoscroll" toggle in the Claude settings which when enabled would not autoscroll ever and always requires manual scrolling. This makes it much easier for the user to read, scroll, read rather than having to first scroll up every time to stop auto scroll.

Alternative Solutions

Type question, press enter, immediately scroll back up the chat a bit, wait and then scroll down and read.

Priority

Medium - Would be very helpful

Feature Category

Interactive mode (TUI)

Use Case Example

  1. I open a new chat with Claude and type a question, press enter.
  2. Claude returns answers
  3. I scroll at my own pace, just like I do with any website or e-book
