Feature request: Localization support for desktop app UI strings (Portuguese / PT-BR)

Resolved 💬 1 comment Opened May 13, 2026 by sejacriativvo Closed May 13, 2026

Summary

The Claude Code desktop app UI strings (e.g., "Tap or hold to record", "Edit automatically", "⌘ Esc to focus or unfocus Claude") are hardcoded in English and cannot be changed by the user.

Request

Add localization/i18n support so that UI strings respect the system language or a user-configurable language setting. Starting with Portuguese (PT-BR) would be especially valuable for Brazilian users.

Expected behavior

UI text should appear in the user's preferred language, or there should be a language setting in the app configuration.

Current behavior

All UI strings are fixed in English regardless of the operating system language.
