[BUG] Image input completely broken — Claude Code can't read images anymore. Even Chinese AI can do this.

What's Wrong?

Environment:*

• Claude Code v2.1.128 ~ v2.1.139 (tested all versions, same result)
• Windows 11, PowerShell / Windows Terminal
• Anthropic API (direct)

What happened:
I have been using Claude Code to send images for nearly 10 days — over 100+ images sent successfully without any issues.

Then suddenly, starting today, Claude Code can no longer read any image at all. No error message. No warning. Just... nothing. It simply says the image is unavailable.

What I tried:

• Ctrl+V (clipboard paste) ❌
• PowerToys Advanced Paste as .png file (Ctrl+Alt+V) ❌
• Downgrading from v2.1.139 all the way back to v2.1.128 ❌
• Crying ❌

Nothing works.

Expected behavior:
Claude Code should be able to read images. This is literally advertised as a multimodal feature. The docs say "Claude Code is a multimodal LLM." Cool story — except it can't see anything right now.

What Should Happen?

Side note:
This tool is used by people around the world for serious work. Image input is not a luxury feature — it's essential.

Chinese AI models (DeepSeek, Qwen, etc.) handle image input just fine, consistently, without random breakage.

Anthropicis building world-class AI — please make sure the basics actually work. The gap between marketing and reality is showing.
