Problem Statement

Hi Anthropic Team,
I am writing to you as a developer based in Israel, speaking on behalf of a large and growing community of developers here who actively use Claude Code as a CLI tool within our IDEs.
First, we want to emphasize that Claude's ability to understand and generate Hebrew is excellent. The model's grasp of the language is highly impressive and valuable to our daily workflow.
However, we are experiencing a significant friction point regarding the UI/text rendering in the terminal. While the language model itself handles Hebrew beautifully, the CLI display struggles heavily with Right-to-Left (RTL) text. The problem becomes especially disruptive and difficult to read when Hebrew and English are mixed within the same output (bi-directional text), which is a constant scenario when discussing code.
We would greatly appreciate it if your engineering team could look into improving the RTL and bi-directional text rendering in the Claude Code terminal. Fixing this display issue would be a massive quality-of-life upgrade for the Israeli tech community and all other developers using RTL languages.
Thank you for building such incredible tools. We look forward to seeing this improved in future updates!
Best regards,

Raz Cohen
