[Feature Request] Improve background task management and visibility in CLI

Bug Description
I've used claude code for almost a year now and this is the first time where I really am starting to feel confused about the capabilities of the product. For instance I know that I have 4 background tasks that are running but if I click into them i don't know how to close any of them and its hard to know if they are actually running. 2 are open to monitor PRs for different branches which I'm unsure if that would even work as the agents are running from the same branch currently. I don't see or know if these monitors are actually working and what they have done. I've tried 'claude agents' and /agents and find it confusing both to use in the CLI and to understand what is going on.
