  • [x] This is a single feature request (not multiple features)

Problem Statement

Users cannot identify or retrieve specific past conversations in Claude Code because sessions have no names. The /resume picker lists sessions without meaningful labels, making it difficult to locate a particular conversation — especially when switching between multiple tasks or projects. This forces users to either keep sessions open indefinitely or lose context when they close and reopen Claude Code

Proposed Solution

Users can assign a custom name to a session and find it by name in the /resume picker.

Alternative Solutions

Users can assign a custom name to a session and find it by name in the /resume picker.

Priority

Critical - Blocking my work

Feature Category

CLI commands and flags

Use Case Example

Currently, Claude Code sessions can only be resumed via /resume, which shows a list without custom names. It would be helpful to be able to rename or bookmark a session so users can easily identify and return to specific conversations — especially when working across multiple tasks or projects.
