What's Wrong?

Session usage jumped from 0% to 100% immediately after typing "hi" — a single, minimal message with no prior context, no CLAUDE.md, no project files, no parallel sessions.

What Should Happen?

A single short message should consume a negligible percentage of the 5-hour session limit.

Error Messages/Logs

No CLI error. Usage meter simply showed 100% after the first exchange.

Steps to Reproduce

Start a fresh Claude Code session with no existing project context
Type "hi" and send
Check /usage — session is at 100%
