[Bug] Retry mechanism fails to recover from transient failures

Bug Description
The retry mechanism doesn't work anymore, you stupid vibe coders... Before when retrying happens, at some point one of the retries picks up and continues the work, now it's totally broken, i have to interrupt the current prompt and send it again even tho the retrys keep retrying/incrementing. ANTHROPICS YOU WILL END UP LIKE OPEN AI! START DOING REASONABLE WORK PLEASE!
