Preflight Checklist
- [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
- [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
- [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code
What's Wrong?
Windows 11
Website installer failed to register correctly with VS Code
Winget install resolved it
The two installers produce inconsistent results / PATH handling
Had to use a third-party tool (Warp) to diagnose it
What Should Happen?
Both your website installer and the installer that win get downloads and runs to install Claude code should be identical and therefore both should be findable in the system path
