What's Wrong?

Unable to verify phone number during onboarding

What Should Happen?

During onboarding, Claude keeps generating error code saying 'unable to send verification code to this number. Try a different number or try again later'. By the way, I tried multiple different numbers and tried later several times with the same results.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Claude mobile phone app or web app
2. Log in (new account)
3. Enter your phone number to get a verification code
4. Enter a local Nigerian number
5. Hit 'send verification code' button
