[BUG] Cowork with VPN not working after updating today

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Apr 16, 2026 by aj-zuckerman Closed Apr 17, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

I can no longer use cowork because of a bug with the update. I use vpn with my company and have had no problems previously but now I can't use cowork at all. Cowork fails on every new task with "Claude Code process exited with code 1". The underlying cause in the VM log is [vm-stderr] Error: Failed to create bridge sockets after 5 attempts
[Process] Exited, code=1, signal=null, duration=1717ms, oom=false

What Should Happen?

New Cowork tasks should launch successfully, as they did on the previous build.
