What's Wrong?
significant increase in usage calculations while doing exactly the same thing. What would take about 10% if that in 5-hr limit usage, is now sitting at approx 50% usage limit. Same model (I force switched back to opus 4.6 1 million due to noticing a huge increase first) and same effort (high) actually I changed to auto, so it should decrease since I usually use high for everything. Instead my usage is showing as being more.
What Should Happen?
Usage should not be being consumed this much when I'm doing exactly the same thing I have been with the same models and the same effort and same plan

Same here. I'm using Claude Code, and even with Opus and two LAMP based prompts used my Pro tier in 15 minutes and second prompt couldn't even finish. Using 2.1.111.

Same here, 2.1.111, I saw 9% consumed of the 5 hour session, a couple minutes in to a single prompt with opus 4.7 xhigh on max 20x plan (previously this would've been 1-2%, or less, on opus 4.6 high 1M), forced back to opus 4.6 high 1M and it seems to be consuming more than double what it was for the same type of work before 4.7 was released.
edit: this seems to have improved for me on 4.6 since https://x.com/bcherny/status/2044839936235553167?s=46
I thought I noticed this too, but didn't know if I was just imaginging things. I'm going to close this out for now then.
