Remote Control: session hangs indefinitely after approving tool call from Android app (Windows CLI)

Bug Description

When using Remote Control from the Claude Android app to approve tool calls in a Windows CLI session, the session hangs indefinitely after approval. The CLI shows "thinking for X minutes/hours" and never resolves. This makes remote sessions completely unusable.

This started occurring approximately one week ago (around April 6, 2026) with no changes to local configuration — only regular Claude Code and Android app updates.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Start a Claude Code CLI session on Windows
  2. Connect via Remote Control from the Claude Android app
  3. Claude requests approval for a tool call (e.g., Bash command)
  4. Approve the tool call from the Android app
  5. Session appears to be working but never completes the action
  6. Back at the workstation, CLI shows extended "thinking" time (e.g., 1h 58m) with no progress

Expected Behavior

Approved tool call executes and session continues normally.

Actual Behavior

Session hangs indefinitely after approval. No output, no error, no recovery.

Environment

  • Platform: Windows 11 Home
  • Claude Code: latest (auto-updates enabled)
  • Mobile client: Claude Android app (latest)
  • Connection: Stable internet on both ends
