Hebrew (RTL) text input broken - each letter goes to a new line

Bug Description

After updating to v2.1.104 (April 12, 2026), typing Hebrew (RTL) text in the chat input causes each letter to appear on a new line instead of forming words. This was not an issue before the update.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Claude Code
  2. Switch keyboard to Hebrew input
  3. Type any Hebrew text in the chat input field

Expected Behavior

Hebrew letters should appear inline, forming words normally.

Actual Behavior

Each Hebrew letter drops to a new line.

Workaround

Type Hebrew text in an external editor and paste it into the chat input.

  • Claude Code version: 2.1.104
  • OS: Linux 6.17.0-20-generic
  • Language: Hebrew (RTL)
