[BUG] Race condition for "How am I doing" prompt

Resolved 💬 3 comments Opened Apr 9, 2026 by kez1985 Closed Apr 13, 2026

Preflight Checklist

  • [x] I have searched existing issues and this hasn't been reported yet
  • [x] This is a single bug report (please file separate reports for different bugs)
  • [x] I am using the latest version of Claude Code

What's Wrong?

When Claude Code asks me how it's doing, it pauses before clearing my response. During the pause I am able to submit my response to my local context, causing Claude to become confused. That is silly, please fix it.

What Should Happen?

Claude should know that I'm sending the response to the "How am I doing" interupting hook, and think "Hey, he's trying to help us, I should cut him some slack and chill for a bit".

● Not sure what you meant by that — voice mode hiccup?

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Talk to Claude for a bit,
  2. it asks you if you're having fun,
