[Bug] Git checkout -b corrupts local changes with unwanted resets/stashes

Bug Description
completely perverting / corrupting the local changes when asked to create a new git branch via: git checkout -b BRANCH_NAME -- git resets, git stashes, etc, when asked, it claimed 'git checkout -b requires a clean working tree when switching bases'
