Bug: Recent conversations not showing in sidebar

Problem

The sidebar does not show recent conversations. When opening Claude Code, the conversation list appears empty or only shows a single item (e.g., 'Check for Claude code updates') despite having had multiple active sessions recently.

Expected Behavior

Recent conversations should appear in the sidebar list, making it easy to resume previous work.

Actual Behavior

The sidebar shows essentially no recent conversations. The user has to use Search to find past sessions. This makes it difficult to pick up where you left off.

Environment

• Claude Code (macOS, launched via Claude Desktop app)
• Multiple projects worked on across sessions (kanban-board, ActionFrog, etc.)
