[BUG] Extra usage credit balance suddenly dropped from A$326.55 to A$16.55 with $0.00 spent (April 2026 promotional credit)

Describe the bug

Two days ago (around April 4, 2026), I successfully redeemed the extra usage credit promotional offer (equal to my monthly Max plan subscription amount). The balance clearly showed A$326.55 in Settings > Usage.

Today (April 6, 2026), the Current balance has suddenly dropped to only A$16.55, while the Extra usage section shows A$0.00 spent this period and resets on May 1.

My regular Max plan subscription usage has not been exhausted yet. I have not used enough to consume approximately A$310 in extra usage.

Steps to reproduce

1. Redeem the April 2026 extra usage credit on claude.ai (it showed correctly).
2. Continue normal usage on claude.ai web.
3. Check Usage page two days later → balance drastically reduced with $0 spent.

Expected behavior

The extra usage credit balance should remain stable (minus any actual consumption) and be properly applied after the regular plan limits.

Actual behavior

Balance dropped by approximately A$310 overnight with no corresponding spend recorded. Extra usage toggle is enabled. I tried increasing the monthly spend limit significantly, but it did not restore the missing amount.

The extra usage credit balance should remain stable after I redeem it.

It should only be deducted when I exceed my regular Max plan usage limits. Since my regular subscription has not been exhausted yet, the balance should still show approximately A$326.55 (or very close to it).

What actually happened?

The balance suddenly dropped from A$326.55 to only A$16.55 overnight, even though the Extra usage section shows A$0.00 spent this period.

Increasing the monthly spend limit did not restore the missing amount.

1. Log in to claude.ai with a Max plan account (AUD).
2. Navigate to Settings > Usage.
3. Redeem the April 2026 extra usage credit promotional offer. The balance correctly displays A$326.55.
4. Use Claude normally via the web chat for the next two days (regular conversations, no excessive usage, no Claude Code CLI, and no third-party tools like OpenClaw).
5. On April 6, 2026, return to Settings > Usage.
6. Notice that the Current balance has suddenly dropped to only A$16.55, even though the Extra usage section shows A$0.00 spent this period (resets May 1).
7. Try the following troubleshooting steps:

• Increase Monthly spend limit from A$300 to A$500 / A$1000+
• Log out and log back in
• Refresh the page / try different browsers

1. The missing ~A$310 balance is not restored.
